The Pet Behavior Help Training Center is located on more than 10 acres, with three fenced outdoor fields and a covered arena for classes. We also have extensive pasture areas and a barn that we use for training, parking and events.
Training Spaces
Agility Field 1
This 110 x 100 ft fully fenced grass field is located closest to the barn and is equipped with lights for training at night. We have a full set of competition agility equipment, including rubberized contacts and 24″ weave poles.
Agility Field 2
This 110 x 120 ft fully fenced grass field is located between the parking area and Agility Field 1. It is also lighted for training at night and has a complete set of competition agility equipment, including rubberized contacts and 24″ weave poles. In addition to the lighted area, this field has an additional 60 x 120 ft area that we often use for obedience classes.
Practice Field
This 90 x 150 ft fully fenced grass field is located at the top of the parking pasture and is the first field you see when you arrive at the Pet Behavior Help Training Center. This multi-use field has a complete set of agility equipment, including rubberized contacts and 24″ weave poles.
Agility students enrolled in Pet Behavior Help classes at the Pre-Competition Teams level or above can purchase a monthly pass to practice agility in this area. We also use this field for obedience classes, Rally classes and private behavioral counseling lessons.
Covered Arena
We use this 50 x 50 ft dirt-floored space for the majority of our obedience classes, as well as many private lessons. In the summer, the cover and surrounding trees keep this area cooler than the outdoor fields and offer protection from summer showers.
Weather
Our Training Center provides a rich outdoor environment full of common distractions to help you and your dog work through some of the hardest but most impactful parts of training. However, the outdoor setting means that our classes are subject to local weather conditions. We want you to enjoy your time at Pet Behavior Help, so both agility and obedience classes may be cancelled and rescheduled due to extreme heat or cold. Agility classes may also be affected by rainy and wet conditions.
For full details on cancellations and rescheduling, please see Pricing & Policies.
Directions
The Pet Behavior Help Training Center is located at 5410 Wendell Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
From Farrington Road
Turn onto Wendell Road, then turn right into the gravel driveway marked with the PBH sign and follow the gravel until you see the wire-fenced field. You can park to the right or left of the driveway in front of that field.
Note: This is a one-way driveway. Please stop and look before entering. Traffic coming from Wendell Road to the Training Center has priority. Exiting cars have a space to pull over and wait prior to entering the driveway.
Parking
Please park just off the gravel perpendicular to the drive. In wet conditions, please back in if you drive a front-wheel drive car and do not use the parking areas that are downhill from the gravel drive.
Handicapped drivers: Please alert your instructor prior to arrival to make arrangements to park closer to your training area.
Please be aware that pedestrians have the right-of-way when driving at Pet Behavior Help. The speed limit is 3 MPH to keep our dogs safe!
