Group Classes

Drop-in classes are available for some Rally and agility classes.

Please see Calendars for a day-by-day view of class dates and times.

Discounts

Pet Behavior Help is committed to making quality dog training affordable. We offer a 10% or 15% discount to anyone whose income would not allow them to participate in our classes at full price. It is our hope that those that can afford to pay the full tuition will do so to help us keep this option available for those who need it.

We also offer the following discounts:

  • a 10% rescue discount,
  • a 5% discount for people who enroll in more than one class in a session, and
  • a 10% continuation discount for students who enroll in an obedience class in the following session.

Class Policies

Registration & Enrollment

Classes fill on a first-paid basis until full. New registrations are generally accepted through the second week of class. To learn about new and upcoming classes, please email us, or follow us on Facebook or Instagram.

Note: Class start dates are dependent upon sufficient enrollment. We will contact you directly via email if the start date of a class you are enrolled in will be delayed.

Class Availability

Our class list is updated regularly. The easiest way to see the current list of available classes is to visit our enrollment page.

You don’t need to create an account or be logged in to see the current list of classes. Drop-ins are often available if a class has started but is not yet full, so let us know if you are interested in trying a class. If you don’t see a specific class you’re interested in or aren’t sure which class to sign up for, please contact us.

Handler Substitutions

In agility, a dog and their handler are a team. Handler substitutions are only allowed with instructor permission. Only one dog is allowed per handler in Skills-level classes.

Inclement Weather

All classes take place at the Pet Behavior Help Training Center, which is located at 5410 Wendell Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.

Classes are held in a covered arena that is rain- and wind-proof, but at ambient outdoor temperatures. For more information about the Pet Behavior Help Training Center, please see Facilities & Directions.

Weather-Related Class Cancellations

The weather in North Carolina can be challenging and unpredictable. All classes may be cancelled and rescheduled during severe weather conditions. Outdoor classes will be cancelled and rescheduled in extreme heat, cold or wet conditions.

Notification of class cancellations will be posted on the calendar and on the Pet Behavior Help Facebook page. Students are responsible for checking the calendar before attending class.

Make-Up Classes

If we need to cancel a class, we add another week to the end of the session until the class has met a total of six times. When this isn’t possible, we offer several options to participants and hold the make-up class when most people are able to attend.

Please plan for classes to extend beyond the six-week time frame, especially during winter, when we do not meet if outdoor temperatures are too cold.
